@(#) BLURB 1.23 95/01/11 10:41:18
In the first few days after the release of TCP WRAPPERS 7.0 I received
an impressive amount of feedback. Thanks. It quickly emerged that there
are more inetd.conf file formats than the 8 systems that I had run my
tests on. The result was one embarrassing core dump in the inetd.conf
configuration checker (tcpdchk, tcpdmatch). Sorry, won't happen again.
This patch improves portability only. If 7.0 works for you don't bother.
- Portability: HP-UX permits one to break long inetd.conf entries
with backslash-newline.
- Portability: EP/IX has no putenv() and some inetd.conf entries
occupy two lines.
- Portability: SCO UNIX NIS has no *netgrent() routines.
As always, suggestions for improvement are welcome.
